EoTE: Thieving Backstabbing Two-Faced Bastards..... IN SPAAAACE!
Critical Injuries and Dying
In the default game rules, dying is nigh impossible. When you have exceeded your Wound Threshold you are knocked unconscious and receive a Critical Injury. Receiving a Critical Injury means rolling on the Critical Injury Table. Most of the entries on this table are fairly innocuous. For each Critical Injury received, you add 10 to the roll on the Table. You need to have had at least 4 Critical Injuries, that have not been healed by doctors or through the Medicine skill, before you can even come close to dying. (ie. A PC needs a 141 on the Critical Injury Table to come close to Death.) Considering that dying is so hard, there is no real danger in combat.. In order to fix this I will add 20 to a the roll on the Critical Injury Table when a PC exceeds his Wound Threshold. This means exceeding your Wound Threshold is now dangerous, but does not mean instant death. Critical Injuries now serve as a greater threat and should be treated seriously.
